This year’s orange season is off to a lively start, with consumer spending remaining upbeat despite broader economic challenges. Historical data from key northern producing regions shows that orders for “Honey Tangerines” or  “Sai Nam Phueng” during Lunar New Year have previously surged by as much as threefold, reflecting strong purchasing power and growing demand for premium, hand‑selected fresh oranges during this auspicious season.

Shoppers continue to prioritize oranges that are fresh, vibrant, and carefully graded, sourced from trusted outlets such as fresh markets and leading supermarkets. At the same time, urban consumers are increasingly turning to direct‑from‑farm online purchases—an upward trend that underscores quality and convenience as the decisive factors driving buying decisions.

KEX also reports that February consistently records the highest annual volume of orange deliveries, coinciding with Lunar New Year. In 2025, KEX saw a year‑on‑year increase in shipments of premium fresh oranges sourced from top‑quality orchards nationwide. The core supply comes from grade‑A harvests in Chiang Mai—Thailand’s gold‑standard origin for the finest Honey Tangerines—particularly from the districts of Fang, Mae Ai, and Mae Chaem.

Continuing its 6-year MOU with the Department of Agricultural Extension, KEX enhances agricultural logistics by providing packing knowledge, specialized fruit boxes, farm-side pickup services, and a 10% shipping discount for registered farmers. KEX also employs a “Fruit-Ready Routing” system and “Fruit Icons” on labels to maintain quality throughout the journey.
